Join us for Worship
One of our primary purposes is to be Connected to Christ through our Worship. We have four separate worship times that offer unique experiences as well as a variety of time options.
Our worship schedule is:
5:00 p.m. Saturday Our Saturday evening service is an informal service with traditional hymns and piano music. Meets in the Chapel.
9:00 a.m. Sunday Our Sunday Sanctuary service is a formal, traditional service with organ, choir, and hymns., It meets in the sanctuary on the north end of the campus.
11:00 a.m Sunday Our Living Water Service is an informal, contemporary service with full band. It meets in the Family Life Center on the south end of the campus.
We invite you to join us for the worship service that suits your schedule and your preferences.
Our Sunday Morning Shaping Hour (Sunday School) is at 10:00 a.m., with classes for all ages.
Serve God with your Time and Talents
You can serve God at one of our Sunday morning worship services by offering yourself - your time and your talents.
Our 9 a.m. sanctuary worship is looking for more sound technicians (training provided - it's not hard!), people to read scripture and serve communion, as well as those willing to serve as acolytes. Our acolyte program, which is being revived, involves youth or adults bringing the light of Christ into the sanctuary before our pastors, and taking the light into the world at the end of the service. They can be youth, age 8 or up, or adults who may want to celebrate some special event like an anniversary, by carrying the light of Christ.
Our 11 a.m. service is looking for more musicians for Salvation's Well Praise Band, sound technicians, lighting technicians, audio-visual volunteers, and more! If you have skills in this area, use them to praise Christ by offering your service. No skills? Don't worry, if you are interested, training can be provided for most jobs!
Just let the church office know (1stumc@sikestonfirstumc.org) if you are willing and interested - or if you need more information.
