As of 2026, our facility is newly remodeled, with spaces for your little one to grow and play in a safe, secure, friendly environment.

We’re excited to announce that First Kids Preschool Enrollment is officially open!
First Kids Preschool is scheduled to open on August 25, 2026, and will serve children from birth through age 5 across five classrooms. The program will run year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and will observe typical school holidays and breaks. To help keep tuition affordable, we ask that parents provide lunch for toddlers and preschoolers.

In late April 2026, we were proud to announce Brenda Dannenmueller as our Preschool Director! She is actively hiring staff and preparing for opening day, including finalizing the Parent Handbook, Enrollment Packet, and prepping the classrooms. She is currently serving as the Director of Kids Academy in Chaffee, MO and will continue that role until she transitions to First Kids this summer.
To get started, simply click the registration link below to access our Brightwheel preschool platform. You’ll be prompted to create an account, complete the registration form, and submit a $50 registration fee to secure your child’s spot. After registering, you can expect a follow-up email in the coming weeks with next steps and important details to guide you through the process.

Scholarships available
Tuition Assistance
As part of our ministry and commitment to reflect Christ’s love, tuition assistance is thoughtfully and prayerfully determined based on each family’s need, circumstances, and the resources God has provided.
Assistance generally covers 25–50% of tuition and families are expected to pay the remaining balance of their tuition each month. Scholarships are awarded on a yearly basis, and families are encouraged to reapply each year.

Brenda Dannenmueller
First Kids Preschool Director
We are grateful and excited to welcome Brenda Dannenmueller as the new Director of First Kids Preschool! Brenda brings with her a deep sense of calling to nurture and guide young children in their earliest years of growth and discovery.
With decades of experience in early childhood education, she has faithfully served as Director of Kids Academy in Chaffee since 2020 and previously spent more than 20 years with Head Start as a Lead Teacher and Assistant Director.
Throughout her ministry of teaching and leadership, Brenda has been committed to creating safe, loving environments where children are known, valued, and encouraged to grow into who God created them to be.
Brenda has a special gift for equipping teachers, partnering with families, and fostering a spirit of connection and care within the learning community. Her work reflects a passion not only for education, but for shaping lives with patience, compassion, and excellence.
Brenda holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Education from Southeast Missouri State University.
In her personal life, Brenda has been married for 38 years and is a devoted mother to two sons and a joyful grandmother to three grandchildren, and three dogs.
We give thanks for the gifts Brenda brings to this role and look forward to the ways God will work through her leadership at First Kids Preschool.

First Kids Preschool is now accepting applications for Lead Teacher positions for the 2026-2027 school year.
This is a unique opportunity to help create something new from the ground up—partnering with Sikeston First United Methodist Church to build a safe, nurturing, and joyful preschool environment where children can grow, learn, and experience God’s love.
First Kids Preschool is set to open in August of 2026 and will serve up to 50 children, ages birth-5 years old with 10-12 staff members.
